The Argument Over Borders

They had their worst argument in years over the borders, and it was not really about the borders. It was the first Tuesday of December. The wedding-ring blocks were all assembled, two hundred curved seams behind them, and now the quilt needed its outer border — the frame, the last band of cloth that would hold the whole thing in.
