Mateo Salas threw the pitch that lost the championship and the city has not forgiven him in eleven months. Demoted to the minor-league club in the last town that still wants him, he meets the team's no-nonsense physiotherapist, Ruth, who treats his arm and refuses, flatly, to treat his ego.
